I decided to name by blog after my favorite essential oil… Lavender.

(Lavandula angustifolia)

Lavande is French for Lavender and many famous Lavender fields are photographed in France.   Lavande is pronounced ‘lah-vawnd’.  Not only is Lavender one of the most versatile oils (I use this oil daily) but it has a spiritual significance for me as well.  The Bible mentions over 1,035 references to Essential oils and/or plants.  One of those oils mentioned was Spikenard (Lavender) and this is what Mary used to anoint Jesus. My prayer is that I will be able to make a difference… encouraging and equipping people in their overall health and well being.

Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard (Spikenard or also known as Lavender) an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
